Premium Cataract Surgery: The Role for Pre-Operative Cirrus HD-OCT
Dr. Joel Isaac Barthelow discusses the growing market for presbyopia- and astigmatism-correcting IOLs. In his practice, he treats all cataract surgery the same as premium IOL surgery. His preoperative workup includes careful examination of anterior and posterior segments, and of the retina and optic nerve. He especially wants to avoid post-op CME and finds Cirrus HD-OCT helps him visualize underlying conditions that may be difficult to see in a clinical examination.
