About Brown, David M. MD
David M. Brown, MD, FACS, Retina Consultants of Houston (formerly Vitreoretinal Consultants).
Dr. Brown is the director of the Greater Houston Retina Research Center and practices at Retinal Consultants of Houston at the Methodist Hospital in Houston Texas. Dr. Brown’s research and clinical interests are focused on diseases of the macula including macular surgery, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular disease.
After Baylor College of Medicine, he completed his ophthalmology residency, medical retina and surgical retina fellowship at the University of Iowa where he was a Thomas Heed fellow and a Heed-Knapp Fellow. In 1993, he was awarded the Ronald G. Michels Foundation Fellowship Award as the most outstanding vitreoretinal fellow in the United States.
Dr. Brown’s honors include membership in both the Macula Society and the Retina Society, honor awards from the AAO and ASRS, and election to "America’s Best Doctors" 2007-2010.
